Application
Color sorting
Overview
NIR image sensors can accurately image through the surface of objects using near-infrared light, overcoming the limitations of traditional visible-light color sorting, which relies solely on color and shape. By leveraging the molecular absorption spectral characteristics of materials, they enable precise identification and sorting.
Fruit & Vegetable Sorting
Near-infrared imaging can reveal moisture retention and bruises near the surface of fruits and vegetables that are invisible to the naked eye. Therefore, integrating near-infrared imaging with visible-light imaging before produce shipment can significantly improve efficiency and reduce labor costs.
Farmland Observation
Today, it is already possible to detect the cultivation of crops by air-capture. LUMIDAR Vis-NIR sensor can achieve visualization of cultivation and distribution status based on moisture content, which improve the detecting accuracy.
Food Production
In food production, it will be difficult to distinguish foreign objects with similar colors solely relying on visible cameras. The absorption and reflection characteristics of SWIR achieve higher recognition.
