Overview

Facing the rapid advancement of automotive intelligence and increasing user demands for safety, LUMIDAR has achieved a critical breakthrough in short-wave infrared (SWIR) sensing technology. The company has independently developed its new-generation PiNIR™ technology, which enhances visible and near-infrared imaging to empower the evolution of intelligent driving systems.

CIS products powered by PiNIR™ technology provide all-weather, high-precision perception of the driving environment, assisting automotive manufacturers in delivering a safer, more comfortable, and smarter driving experience.

With years of deep expertise in short-wave infrared sensing, LUMIDAR focuses on the development of low-cost, high-performance near-infrared CMOS sensors, driving innovation for intelligent driving and in-cabin interaction technologies.

200% Increase in In-Cabin Sensitivity
Powered by PiNIR™ technology, the CIS delivers superior near-infrared sensitivity for Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Occupant Monitoring Systems (OMS) in smart cabins. It achieves a remarkable 200% increase in quantum efficiency at the 940nm wavelength, significantly reducing potential harm to human eyes while enabling real-time monitoring of the driver’s eye movements to enhance driving safety.

All-Weather Road Perception and Enhanced Safety
SWIR imaging equips autonomous vehicles with capabilities beyond human vision, providing critical data in complex and challenging driving conditions. This enhances the overall reliability, safety, and efficiency of autonomous driving systems. Moreover, thanks to its ability to penetrate windows effectively, SWIR-based vision systems can be more easily integrated inside the vehicle.
Anti-Glare
Powered by PiNIR™ technology, the CIS achieves millisecond-level dynamic range switching from low light to intense glare, effectively preventing blinding effects. Even under extreme lighting conditions such as alternating light and dark in tunnels, it maintains stable high-contrast imaging. Through its innovative photoelectric conversion mechanism, PiNIR™ technology provides reliable all-weather optical perception for intelligent driving systems.
